Koo Ja - cheol (2010)
Koo Ja - cheol ( born February 27, 1989 in Nonsan, South Korea) is a South Korean football player who is under contract at the Bundesliga 05 1 FSV Mainz.
Career
Clubs
Koo comes from the youth department of Jeju United, which was until 2006 based in the capital, Seoul. In 2007 he moved into the Erstligamannschaft of the association.
In January 2010, Koo was the first time in a European club in conversation: the English first division side Blackburn Rovers showed interest, but the change did not materialize. In this year he was with Jeju runner up in the K- League.
Shortly before the end of the exchange period on 31 January 2011 he signed for German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, for whom he made his debut on Matchday 2 against Bayern Munich, when he came off the bench in 69 minutes for Hasan Salihamidžić. As of 22 Round he came off the bench in every game; on 29 Matchday he stood for the first time in the initial lineup. The next Matchday he gave his first assist of. Then the relegation battle came to a head for the Lower and it was used only in one of the last four games.
On 31 January 2012, he was eventually hired for the second half of 2011/12 to FC Augsburg. In his third Premier League game on February 18, 2012 in the 1:4 away defeat at Bayer 04 Leverkusen ( 22 Matchday), he scored his first Bundesliga goal with the interim 1-1 draw in the 50th minute. With five goals in 15 games back round Koo was instrumental in Augsburg league.
Koo played on loan in the 2012/13 season for FC Augsburg, after his contract at Wolfsburg had been extended for one year until 30 June 2015.
In January 2014 Koo joined the league rivals 1 FSV Mainz 05, in which he signed a contract until 2018. In his second outing for the FSV on February 1, 2014 ( 19th Round ), he scored the 2-0 against SC Freiburg his first goal for his new club.
National
Koo debuted in 2008 in the senior team. He took with her from 17 to 23 February, 2008 Chongqing at the East Asia Cup finals which won the team.
In 2009 he was captain of the U-20 national team at the World Youth Championship in Egypt, which failed in the quarterfinals at the eventual champions Ghana. In the technical report of the tournament Koo is described as " a central defensive midfielder, good support, many changes and will, effective positioning and passing game, good game understanding, highly mobile".
In early 2011, he participated with the national team at the Asian Cup in Qatar, where in six games he had share in South Korea's semi-finals with five goals. In 2012, he led the South Korean team as captain to the Olympic football tournament and came in all six games for use. In the match for third place he won with his team the bronze medal, the first Olympic medal for South Korean footballer, he scored the first goal in the 2-0 victory against Japan.
