Kudankulam (Tamil: கூடங்குளம் Kūṭaṅkuḷam [ ku ː ɖʌŋɡuɭʌm ]; Koodankulam also ) is a town in the Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the coast of the Indian Ocean 70 km south of the district capital, Tirunelveli and 20 kilometers north-east of Kanyakumari, the southern tip of India, in the taluk ( sub-district ) Radhapuram. The population is around 13,000 ( 2011 census ).

The place is known by the Kudankulam nuclear power plant to be built since 2002. The area also has hundreds of wind turbines for power generation, eight of which are in the grounds of the nuclear power plant. These wind turbines currently have a combined capacity of 2,000 MW and represent one of the largest wind farms in India dar.
