Kopčany

Kopčany ( Koptschan German, Hungarian Kopcsány - to 1882 Kopcsán ) is a municipality in western Slovakia. It is located about 2 km from the border with the Czech Republic at the March, about 11 km from Skalica and 80 km from Bratislava.

The village was first mentioned in 1392 as Kopchan, but it existed before. In the period of the Great Moravian Empire, she was a part of the Mikulcice agglomeration. The Church of St. Margaret from the 9th century is the only preserved church from the Great Moravian period.

By mid- 2007, the cadastral Struha lay on the municipality.
