Kopytka

Kopytka ( "little hooves ", Kopytko "little foot" ), also called regionally in Poland Szagówki, are a traditional Polish cuisine dough and are among the dumplings ( Kluski ).

They are made from a potato - flour - dough can be used for the cooked potatoes. The dough is rolled into long rolls that can flatten and crushed with parallel diagonal cuts so that rhombuses or parallelograms formed. Then the Kopytka be cooked in boiling salted water. On the table they usually come as a side dish, but are sometimes served as a standalone dish with boisterous bacon and glazed onions.

There is a known variant is given in the white cheese to the dough. This type Kopytka is Leniwe Kluski or Leniwe called pierogi ( "lazy dumplings " ) and eaten sweet, often with beurre à la polonaise and sugar. Can also be added dill or parsley to the dough but, there arise Zielone Kluski ("green dumplings ").
