Korado Korlević

Korado Korlević ( born September 19, 1958 in Poreč, Croatia) is a Croatian amateur astronomer and staff of the Observatory Višnjan. He is a discoverer of numerous asteroids, currently (Jan 2010) are about 1270 there, 130 of them along with other observers. He also discovered the comet 183P/Korlević-Jurić and 203P/Korlević.

In 1990 he took part in the 1st International Tunguskaexpedition to the site of the Tunguska event. Motivated by the new fields of research that showed this expedition to Korlević set out to replace the telescope of the observatory Višnjan. This was heavily damaged during the Croatian War. The new telescope was used in 1995 and resulted in a short time to the discovery of many previously unknown asteroids.

The asteroid ( 10201 ) Korado was named in recognition of his educational, astronomical and social engagements after him.
