Korinos (Greek Κορινός ( f sg ) ) is a small town with about 4,000 inhabitants, in Pieria, the Greek administrative region of Central Macedonia. Since 1928, independent rural community ( kinotita ) Korinos was raised to the municipality by the incorporation of several adjacent municipalities in 1997. With the administrative reform of 2010 Korinos was incorporated into the municipality Katerini, where it has since formed one of six municipal districts. The Highway 1, which connects Athens and Thessaloniki in the south to the north, passes to the west of the village. Korinos also lies on the railway line Athens -Thessaloniki.
