Koriya

Korea (also Koriya ) was a princely state of British India on the Chota Nagpur Plateau, in today's state of Chhattisgarh. Its capital was until 1900 the place Sonhat, then Baikunthpur.

The Principality of Chauhan Rajput originated in the 17th century and was a British protectorate from 1818 to 1947. Korea was under to 1905 the province of Bengal, then the Central Provinces. It had in 1901 an area of ​​4224 km ² and 35.113 inhabitants.

The Raja joined in August 1947, the Eastern States Union. On 1 January 1948 this union was dissolved and Korea Madhya Pradesh India and thus incorporated. On November 1, 1956 all princely states were resolved. Since 1 November 2000, the area to the newly formed state of Chhattisgarh belongs.
