Korpiklaani

Korpiklaani (Finnish " Clan of the wilderness ," and " clan of the forest" ) is a Finnish folk metal band from Lahti with strong influences from traditional folk music. History

Korpiklaani emerged from the previously defunct band Shaman in 2003. Stand in Shaman yet the language and culture of the seeds in the foreground, so Korpiklaani a larger mass should be accessible. The DVD includes the complete performance of the band at Wacken Open Air 2006.

On March 21, 2008, the fifth studio album Korven Kuningas appeared. To Keep on Gallopping, the third song of the album, a single and a music video was released on 13 of February. Shortly after the release, the band played among others with Moonsorrow and Ensiferum the European festival tour Paganfest.

The sixth studio album Karkelo was published on 26 June 2009. The Finnish title means something like "Celebration ". First the single Vodka appeared on May 25 on CD, digipack picture disc The recordings for the album began on 15 February 2009. Besides the CD version Karkelo was also available in a limited edition of 250 pieces version on brown vinyl.

On February 4, 2011, the seventh album Ukon Wacka was published. The title track appeared as early as 21 December 2010 as a digital single and contains Päät Pois Tai Hirteen, the second track of the album, as a B-side. On the album there is, among others, the song Tequila, to which a video was released on 3 January 2011.

In September 2011, Korpiklaani announced that violinist Jaakko " Hittavainen " Lemmetty was no longer part of the band due to health problems. In its place moved Teemu Eurola, however left the band during the current tour again. On 22 February 2012 it was announced that Tuomas Rounakari from now will be to violinist of the group.

On 26 January 2012, the eighth album by the name Kunnia was announced. On 9 May 2012, the revised album title was released. He is loud and Manala appear on 3 August 2012. There the new violinist Tuomas Rounakari will participate for the first time in a Korpiklaani album. In addition, the song is Metsälle which already appeared in 2011 as a single, included on the album.

On March 13, 2013 announced the band via Facebook, that the long-standing active accordion player Juho Kauppinen had dropped out of the band.
