Körting Hannover AG (formerly: Gebr Körting AG) is an apparatus engineering company headquartered in Hanover.

The company played the late 19th and early 20th century, a leader in Germany and Europe in the development of jet pumps, in particular steam jet pumps.

Even today manufactures Körting jet pump installations and based on them vacuum systems, as well as burner and equipment of thermal and chemical process engineering.

History

The company Gebrüder Körting was founded on 1 November 1871 by the brothers Berthold and Ernst Körting in Hanover. To this end, the brothers rented a small office and a small room on the backyard today Joachim Street 13 near the Hanover Central Station. Berthold took over the predominantly commercial, Serious technical leadership. The brothers started successfully with the development and patenting of the first functioning injectors. Initially, only two workers were employed.

Because of the ever-growing jobs, the company rented a factory in 1872 at the Celler Straße in today Oststadt. It consisted of two small administrative buildings with a 12 horsepower steam engine. There were 41 workers employed. The young company introduced steam and water jet pumps and the associated capacitors ago. 1874 already provided the small business 2000 jet projecting machines.

The company grew quickly and within a few years founded missions in Germany and neighboring European countries (London, Paris, Milan, Genoa, Barcelona, ​​Wroclaw, Paris, Saint Petersburg and Vienna) and overseas (Philadelphia ). The first overseas branch business originated as " Körthing Brothers" in Manchester. 1874 America business was opened. 1880 working for the company 20 employees and 170 workers. At its peak before the global economic crisis Körting employed about 1,700 workers and 400 salaried employees. The company was one of the largest employers in the Hanover region. The development of large gas engines in the early 20th century did not bring the hoped-for success for Körting, so that this branch was abandoned after a short time.
