Koryak is a language that is spoken mainly in the former of 3,000 Koryak autonomous district of the Koryak. The language is a close relative of Chukch. She has a great wealth of dialects, which are not mutually intelligible in some cases.

Alphabet

In the 1930s, a Latin alphabet was introduced. In 1937 it was replaced by a Cyrillic alphabet without special characters. In the 1950s, four characters taken with apostrophe in the alphabet: в ', г ', к ' н '. Some years later, the К were replaced with an apostrophe and the Н with apostrophe special characters with hooks. This is the current alphabet of 37 letters and looks like this:
