Kosmos 47

Cosmos 47 is the code name for an unmanned flight of the Soviet spaceship Voskhod, which carried out 1964 tests in preparation for the flight of Voskhod 1 into orbit in October. It was common in the Soviet Union to give only successful missions an official name. Failed flights were mostly not announced and test flights only under the general cover name cosmos.

The flight

The launch took place on October 6 at 07:12 UT clock from Soviet Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard a Voskhod rocket. In general, was a 24 -hour test of all systems. The landing took place on October 7, 1964 at 07:30 UT.
