Kossi Efoui

Kossi Efoui (* 1962 in Anfoin ) is a Togolese author.

He studied philosophy at the University of Lomé and participated in protests against the Togolese President Gnassingbe Eyadema of the former regime. These political activities meant that he had to leave his home country. Today he lives in exile in France.

He writes plays and novels and works as a reporter, especially for the French-language weekly magazine Jeune Afrique. Pan-Africanism and Negritude of the so-called francophone Africa shape his world view. For his work La Fabrique of cérémonies he received in 2002 the Grand Prix littéraire de l' Afrique noire.
