Kossuth County, Iowa
The Kossuth County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. In the census in 2010, the County had 15,543 inhabitants and a population density of 6.2 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Algona.
Geography
The County is located in the extreme north of Iowa, bordering Minnesota and has an area of 2,524 square kilometers, including four square kilometers of water. This makes it the largest county by area in the state. It borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History
The Kossuth County was formed on 15 January 1851 former parts of Webster County. It was named after Lajos Kossuth, a Hungarian patriot who against Austria went into exile in America after the War of Hungary.
When the Bancroft County was disbanded in 1855, the Kossuth County increased considerably since then and is bordered to the north by Minnesota.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Kossuth County 15,543 people in 6,775 households. The population density was 6.2 people per square kilometer.
The racial the population was composed of 97.9 percent white, 0.3 percent African American, 0.1 percent Native American, 0.4 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 0.8 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity were 1.4 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
