Band History

The name of the band goes back to Sandy Koufax, a baseball player in the sixties.

Robert Suchan formerly played in the 90's emo band Joshua.

The band The Get Up Kids Koufax helped bring out her first album. After switching off of The Get Up Kids whose members Ryan and Rob Pope came to the band.

Published in 2005 Koufax their third album "Hard Times Are In Fashion" on the German label Motor Music. The band around singer Robert Suchan plays it flawless pop songs, but not without rough edges.

Robert Suchan theme on this album the contagious apathy, the nation's broad doing herself. This disinterest Suchan experienced firsthand, as he taught as a substitute teacher adolescents in American schools. With his record, he would impose no political announcements, but he describes the current spirit of politically divided camp and the fear of Americans to honestly express themselves politically. The half Czech took "Hard Times Are In Fashion" mostly in Prague. Viewed from a distance it fell once more on how strange it was to live in America and how much closer to Europe would actually him.

Koufax ask many questions in their songs, but they do not expect answers. She should open up itself every listener.
