Kourosh Khani

Kourosh Khani ( born July 3, 1989 in Mashhad ) is an Iranian automobile racing driver.

Career

Khani began his motor racing career at the age of eight years. His father influenced him to this sport. He was himself a motocross rider and has a leading position in the Iranian Motorsports Association. In 2007 he started in Formula racing, he participated in several races of the British Formula Ford. In 2008 he moved to Welch Motorsport in the Formula Renault BARC. He finished 16th in the main series and reached the third place in the winter series. In the winter series he also won his first Formula Renault race. Over the next two seasons Khani remained winless in the BARC Formula Renault. Both seasons, he finished in eighth place. In addition, he took part in each race of the 2009 British Ginetta G50 Cup and makes first experiences in touring car racing. 2011 moved Khani within the BARC Formula Renault to Scorpio Motorsport. He won a race and improved to fourth place in the drivers' standings.

2012 Khani received a cockpit in the FIA ​​Formula 2 Championship. He was the first Iranian racers in this series. Khani finished the season starting on the 20th place.
