Kovancılar

Kovancılar is a city and capital of the eponymous district in the Turkish province of Elazig. The county Kovancılar located in the north of the province and is bordered to the north by the province of Tunceli and to the east by the province of Bingöl. In the city Kovancılar 22 473 and 39 906 inhabitants live throughout the county (as of 2012). The city was founded in 1934 by Turkish immigrants ( Mucahir ) from Romania.
