Kraft Schepke

Force Schepke ( born March 3, 1934 in Königsberg ) is a retired German rower. He won the 1960 Olympic gold in Rome along with his brother Frank Schepke.

Schepke launched for the rowing club A.T.V. Ditmarsia Kiel. 1958 won the coxless four rowing community Ditmarsia Kiel and Ratzeburg RC in the occupation of Karl -Heinz Hopp, Manfred Rulffs, power Schepke and Hans Lenk both at the German Championships as well as at the European Championships in Poznan.

In 1959, the eighth in the rowing community Ratzeburg RC and Ditmarsia Kiel became German champion. The crew Klaus Bittner, Karl -Heinz Hopp, Hans Lenk, Manfred Rulffs, Frank Schepke, power Schepke, Walter Schroeder and Karl- Heinrich von GRODDECK with coxswain Willi Padge won shortly thereafter at the European Championships in 1959. The media response to this victory of Germany rowing eight was enormous, the boat was voted team of the Year.

1960 won the eighth at the German Championships in front of the aft of Germania Dusseldorf 1904. Schepke The brothers also won at the championships in the coxless four and in coxed four. After training as a qualified sports teacher force Schepke worked as head of department at the National Sports Association of Lower Saxony in Hanover.
