Kraljevica

Kraljevica [ kra ː ʎɛʋitsa ] (Italian Porto Re) is a city and municipality in north-western Croatia. In addition to a small harbor, the town also has a major shipyard.

Location

Kraljevica is located in a natural harbor Kotar in the Primorje - Gorski. The village is located in the entrance to the Bay of Bakar and about 20 km south of Rijeka. Opposite Kraljevica is the northern part of the island of Krk.

History

Traces of an Illyrian and Roman settlement have been discovered in Kraljevica.

16th century

1525 Kraljevica was mentioned in documents as a port of Frankopanenstadt Hreljin. This means that Kraljevica was an urban district of the historic Hreljin at this time. In the course of time Kraljevica has made ​​independent from the historic Hreljin.

17th Century
