Kramfors Municipality

Kramfors is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province Västernorrland County and the historic Ångermanland. The main town is Kramfors.

The World Heritage by UNESCO High Coast area is for the most part in this community. The largest towns are the capital of Kramfors and Bollstabruk. The municipality of Kramfors is led by the Social Democratic Party Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti since the introduction of universal suffrage.

The bridge was inaugurated in 1943 Sandöbron over the Ångermanälven was until 1964 the largest concrete bridge in the world without intermediate pillars. Today it has lost its position to the lying in the same municipality 1,210 meters long Högakustenbron. The latter is the longest suspension bridge in Sweden.

When you place Vibyggerå is the 295 meter high Skuleberg ( Skuleberget ), of which one has an excellent view over the surrounding forest and the sea. On the mountain you will find traces of the sea coast from the period shortly after the Ice Age. At that time the coast was about 285 feet higher. In the mountain there is a legendary cave where the robbers are said to have once lived. Below a steep rock wall takes place every year a song festival.

In place Nordingrå lies the museum village Mannaminne. Here you can look at about 40 different houses, different themes are dedicated.

On the banks of Ångermanälven located near the village Prästmon the medieval castle Styresholm, which was built by the brothers Vitali.
