The cavalry and armored troops school Krampnitz (Army Riding School ) was established by a decision of OKH - 1935 in Potsdam Krampnitz. Precursor facility was the Cavalry School Hannover. Reason for this was located in the vicinity of military training Doeberitz.

History

In March 1937, the Berlin-based architect Robert Kisch presented the plans for the barracks in Krampnitz. The Army Neubauamt began in the spring of 1937 with the construction work. Completion likely against 1939. Relocation of Army Riding and Driving School took place in stages and began in 1937 with the teaching staff and was 1939/40, complete.

Since November 1938, the army riding school was under the " head of the rapids troops," General Heinz Guderian. In June 1941, renamed the " School for Rapid troops," 1943 " Panzertruppenschule Krampnitz II " took place. In winter 1944, the relocation of the main components of the armored forces school to Bergen, only the mounted training units remained in their barracks.

The grounds of the military base is around 120 hectares. As of 1945, the Soviet army was stationed here after 1992, the site was no longer used for military purposes.
