Krasnogvardeyskoye, Stavropol Krai

Krasnogwardeiskoje (Russian Красногвардейское ) is a village ( selo ) in the Stavropol region of Russia with a population of 15,992 (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 100 km as the crow north-northwest of the administrative center of Stavropol region in the Northern Caucasus foothills on both sides of the left Manytsch Creek Jegorlyk.

Krasnogwardeiskoje is the administrative center of the Rajons Krasnogwardeiski and seat and only town in the rural community ( selskoje posselenije ) Selo Krasnogwardeiskoje.

History

The town was founded in 1803 as Medweschje. Since 1872, the village was the administrative seat of a Ujesds of 1847 created province of Stavropol. With the abolition of the provinces in the 1920s, the village administrative center of a Rajons remained.

On 19 May 1935, the renamed Jewdokimowskoje, in honor of the regional First Secretary of the VKP ( B) Efim Evdokimov was. During the Stalinist purges of 1938 but fell out of favor ( and was shot in 1940 ). Therefore, the village of Rajon received on 17 March 1939 the Council of People's Commissars, quasi head of government, and later the Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov Chairman Molotowskoje the name, just the name Molotowski. In the context of de-Stalinization took place on 13 July 1957, the re-naming, in the village and Rajon received their current name, derived from Krasnaya Gvardija for Red Guard.

Traffic

On the southern edge of Krasnogwardeiskoje the regional road 07K -041, part of the former R269 runs, the Bataisk far from Rostov-on- Don connects to Stavropol. The place is also the end point of the regional road 07K -036 of Stavropol on Isobilny and Nowoalexandrowsk.

From the mid- 1980s a railway line from Pestschanokopskaja ( between Belaya Glina and Salsk ) to Peredowaja was built ( at Isobilny ) and put into operation in 1989 provisionally about Krasnogwardeiskoje ( station Krasnaya Gvardija ). Already in the 1990s, the deficit also due to the decline of the Russian economy section between Pestschanokopskaja and Krasnaya Gvardija was again shut down and dismantled after 1998. On the remaining branch line Peredowaja - Krasnaya Gvardija is only freight.
