The radio station Krasny Bor was a great transmitter for long, medium and short wave at Krasny Bor, which is also referred to as the sender Saint Petersburg. It was 1961/62 launched and in addition to numerous free-standing steel lattice towers carrying transmission antennas for shortwave broadcasting, 4 self-radiating transmission towers namely a 271.5 meter high transmission mast for long wave radio, which is equipped with a cage antenna, a 257 -meter-high, against earth isolated transmission tower for medium wave, which also carries a cage antenna, a 106 -meter-high transmission tower for medium wave, the antenna wires carries on several cross beams fish-belly -like around the mast and a 93 -meter-high, insulated against ground guyed lattice steel mast.

The 271.5 -meter-high radio mast was established in 2002 as a replacement for one destroyed in a helicopter collision on 5 November 2001 257 -meter-high masts.

On 31 December 2012, the operation of the transmitter was adjusted due to austerity measures by the Voice of Russia.
