Kraut Line

The Kraut Line was a ice hockey forward line of the Boston Bruins, who played from 1936 to 1947 in the National Hockey League. The three strikers, who belonged to the herb Line, were Milt Schmidt, Bobby Bauer and Woody Dumart.

The name is related to the North American prejudice that sauerkraut was the favorite dish of all Germans and they are therefore referred to as a herb. The three attackers came from what is now Kitchener, Ontario, was founded by a German place called until World War II Berlin. From the season 1936/37, the three played together for the Boston Bruins. They led the team to win the Stanley Cup in 1939. Outstanding were the three in the 1939/40 season, when they occupied the first three places in the rating scorer in the playoffs but it was not enough to defend their title. In 1941, she again won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins. Before the end of the following season the complete Storm series left the team and moved with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. The three to season 1945/46, returned and reinforced the Bruins again. 1952 ran the three one more time for a game of Bruins on together.
