The Krempau (also Kremper Au) is a southern (left ) tributary of the sturgeon in the Steinburg district or in the Krempermarsch.

The Krempau is the last tributary of the sturgeon from its mouth into the Elbe. It is about 20 km and including the underground sections about 25 km long and rises south of Brande- Hörnerkirchen in the district of Pinneberg. From there it flows to the west, crosses under field between High and Steinburg the A 23, passes under the southbound L 112 and then flows in a southwesterly direction through Süderaudorf, Audorf and Süderau. From Süderau the Krempau flows in a northwesterly direction to the brim, then makes a bow and flows again in a southwesterly direction along Krempendorf and Borsfletherbüttel where it bends to the north, flows through Borsfleth and finally ends at river kilometer 75.8 in the sturgeon. In Borsfleth the Krempau is separated by the Verlathschleuse of the sturgeon.
