History

Due to the expansion of the city of Louis of Bavaria, the population of the city grew so much that the cemeteries were no longer adequate to the two Churches Alter Peter and Church of Our Lady. Therefore, the cemeteries were moved to the then outskirts, but still remained within the city walls.

In 1478, the cemetery of the parish of St Peter was transferred to Hackenviertel. Jörg von Halsbach called Ganghoferstrasse, planned and built the church cemetery, which is aligned as a special feature to the south; to the 19th century as each orientation to the east was frowned upon, just for cemetery churches, but they expected the return of Christ from the east, of the Rising Sun. Jörg von Halsbach designed a bare, three-pile brick building with spire and four clipped gables. In the nave, a Gothic Netzgratgewölbe is still preserved. In 1485 the church was consecrated as All Saints' Church on the cross. After 1493 the church received its choir tower.

The church was in 1620 in Baroque style. The eastern choir received a Baroque barrel vault with lunettes. 1814 Cross church was again re-gothicised within the meaning of historicism.

The massive tower contains two bells dating from the 18th and 19th centuries in the beat tones gk1 and h1. The bells are struck on the electric movement, but can otherwise be rung only by cable, which is the case for example during the Parish Corpus Christi Procession of the mother parish of St. Peter.
