Kreuzspitze (Ammergau Alps)

The cross- peak from the south

The cross- peak (on official maps Kreuzspitz ) is with 2185 meters the highest mountain in the Bavarian part of the Oberammergau Alps. The cross- peak is not to be confused with the Kreuzspitzl 906 meters to the south on the border with Austria ( 2089 meters), nor with the cross- peak at high bird in the Allgäu Alps ( 2367 meters).

The mountain is located southeast of the Ammer saddle in Ettaler forest. Its peak can be reached most easily via the normal route from the north by the Hochgrießkar. Beautiful and varied, it is, however, take the south upstream Kreuzspitzl and ( to II places I) can be reached via the beautiful ridge to the main summit. The mountain also offers a challenging ski tour through the Hochgrießkar.

The surrounding peaks ( Frieder, vulture heads, Schell simplicity ) are popular tour destinations.
