Krickenbach

Krickenbach is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kaiserslautern -Süd, which has its headquarters in the city of Kaiserslautern.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest.

To Krickenbach includes the residential places Ameisenhof, Bohlenhof, Erkelshäuserhof and Schweinstal.

History

Krickenbach was first mentioned on 25 March 1347 when Siegfried loss of time, a merchant, the Church of the Commandery Einsiedel of the Teutonic Knights founded a chaplaincy at the altar of St. Nicholas.

The blazon of the coat of arms reads: " Gold is a skew lattice of red strips, topped with a black heart shield, is five silver Bollen 2:1:2 ".

It was established in 1960 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior. The Bollen remember the former local lords, the lords of SICKINGEN.

West of the church the highway runs 270 Kaiserslautern Pirmasens connects. At the federal motorway 62 ( Landstuhl Pirmasens ) with the exit spell is 10 km away. Closest train station is Schopp at the Biebermühlbahn.

Others

In Saarland, Homburg, there is a residential area, which is unofficially called Neukrickenbach. The district was created in 1922 through settlement of railroad workers who were mainly moved here from Krickenbach. With the onset of the desire to build around 1928 the area was opened up. The streets of the neighborhood are named after musicians, as the residents cultivated the musical tradition of their hometown.
