Kris Versteeg

Kris Versteeg ( born May 13, 1986 in Lethbridge, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since November 2013 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League contract. His younger brother Mitch is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Kris Versteeg began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Lethbridge Hurricanes, for whom he played from 2002 to 2005 a total of three years in the Western Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft during 2004 a total of 134 players from the Boston Bruins. After his last year in Lethbridge, he joined the Red Deer Rebels and played for another year in the WHL, before the end of the 2005/06 season in professional hockey for the Providence Bruins, the farm team of the Boston Bruins played for the first time. In 13 games of the regular season, the attacker get six points scorer, including two goals. In the three playoff games, he had no points scorer.

On February 3, 2007 Kris Versteg was delivered to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Brandon Bochenski. By the end of the 2006/07 season Versteeg played for the then- AHL farm team the Blackhawks, the Norfolk Admirals. The following season, Versteeg was in 56 AHL games for the Rockford IceHogs, the new farm team in Chicago, on the ice and scored 49 points scorer, including 18 goals. In the same season he made his debut in the National Hockey League and scored in 19 games for the Blackhawks 20 scorer points, including seven goals. In the 2009/10 season he won with Chicago for the first time in his career, the Stanley Cup.

In the result, the Blackhawks parted the end of June of Versteeg, so he moved with Bill Sweatt in exchange for Viktor Stålberg, Christopher DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis to Toronto. For the Maple Leafs, he was set as a regular player before he was released in February 2011 in exchange for a first-and third- round option for the NHL Entry Draft in 2011 to the Philadelphia Flyers. On 1 July 2011, the Flyers him transferred to a second-round vote in NHL Entry Draft 2012 NHL Entry Draft or 2013, and a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Florida Panthers.

After two years in Florida, he was traded along with Philippe Lefebvre to the Chicago Blackhawks, in turn, charges for the Jimmy Hayes and Dylan Olsen.
