Kristel Viigipuu

Kristel Viigipuu ( born August 19, 1990 in Tartu) is an Estonian biathlete.

Kristel Viigipuu from SK Elva played their first international race in the Junior World Championships 2008 in Ruhpolding, where she was the 50th and 68th Single Page the sprint. In 2010 she took part in Torsby for the second time at a World Junior Championships. In Sweden she finished with finishing seventh in singles and six good results in the sprint, was in pursuit but on the 25th place back. Even in the domestic Otepaeae she took part in the same year at the Junior European Championships, where she finished ninth in the sprint and eight in pursuit, was 29 in singles and with the Estonian Mixed Relay Eleventh.

In the power range Viigipuu occurs since the first race in the context of the IBU Cup in Idre 2009. Already at the first World Cup race of the season 2009/10 the Estonian celebrated its debut in the World Cup. In Östersund she ran in the sprint to the 108th place and was with Kadri Lehtla, Sirli Hanni and Elisabeth Juudas in the relay competition 19 in Ruhpolding, it reached number 98 in 2010, a first double-digit result, better still ran the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she was 83 in the sprint and with Lehtla, Hanni and Eveli Saue 18 in the relay race. After the competitions in Vancouver Viigipuu started at the Biathlon World Championships 2010 in Otepaeae. Both in the individual competition as well as in the sprint, she took the 45th place. With the Estonian season they finished fifth. In the season 2010/11 they won at the Biathlon World Championships in 2011 in the Russian Khanty-Mansiysk with 55th place in the individual competition their best ever placing in a World Cup competition. In the sprint competition, she took 80th place. To kick off the 2011/12 season, she won the individual competition in the Swedish Östersund as the 38th, the first World Cup points in their careers.
