Kristiane Backer

Profession

From 1987 to 1989 Backer volunteered at the private radio station Radio Hamburg. She then worked until 1995 as the first German presenter (video jockey ) at that time exclusively English-speaking TV channel MTV Europe. Parallel created and hosted it from 1993 to 1995 the youth show Bravo TV on RTL 2 For her television work Backer has received the Golden Camera and two Golden Otto.

On MTV she hosted inter alia the Coca- Cola Report, European Top 20 and Awake on the Wild Side. From 1996 she presented two years on NBC Europe, the daily culture show, The Ticket.

After a long break in the television business Backer moderated since 2009, several travel programs on the Travel Channel ( Travel 2009 Travel 2010 Travel 2011) and the mission Matters of Faith for the international stations Ebru TV. She also moderated Europe business presentations, conferences and galas.

Private life

1995 converted the Protestant to Islam. She wears a headscarf, but this one is made up, " that women who cover themselves do not discriminate, but to be respected ." Through its conversion to Islam, she published the book in May 2009 From MTV to Mecca - How Islam changed my life.

On April 14, 2006, she married the Moroccan television journalist Rachid Jaafar. Meanwhile, she is divorced and lives in London.
