Kristín Marja Baldursdóttir

Kristín Marja Baldursdóttir ( born January 21, 1949 in Hafnarfjörður ) is an Icelandic author.

You passed the final exam as a teacher at the Pedagogical University of Iceland in 1970 and received her Bachelor of Arts ( in German language and Icelandic) 1991. Further training in Germany and Denmark followed. From 1975 to 1988 she worked as a primary school teacher in Reykjavík. She then moved the profession and, like many other Icelandic writer worked as a journalist for the newspaper " Morgunblaðið ". She worked there until 1995.

The first novel by Kristin Marja " seagulls laughter " ( " Mávahlátur " ) was published in 1995. It's about the girl Agga, growing up in a small village in Iceland in poverty. One day her handsome aunt Freya appears from America and whirls the lives of the inhabitants of the village. - The book was a great success and was filmed under the same title.

In the novel ( " Kular af degi " ) "Cooling the crack of dawn ," the author tells of the teacher Thórsteina, which has a hot lover in France.
