Kristina Lugn

Kristina Lugn ( pronunciation: [ ˌ ti ː na kɹis lɵŋ ː n], born November 14, 1948 in Tierp ) is a Swedish author and member of the Swedish Academy. She is the mother of playwright and director Martina Montelius.

Lugn grew up in Skövde, where her father was a soldier in the tank regiment in Skaraborg and her mother worked as a teacher. She writes both poems and dramas and has published eight collections of poetry, since it in 1972 with the work of Om jag inte ( Eng.: If I do not ) debuted.

Since the death of actor Allan Edwall Lugn also operates the theater Brunnsgatan 4 in Stockholm. Her pieces, which are listed next Brunnsgatan 4 also at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, have had great success with the public. Some of their most successful pieces are Tant Blomma, IDLA - Flickorna, Titta en älg! and Kvinnorna vid Svansjön.

In all their works of death, the loneliness, the fear of the Midlife Crisis and a suffocating, but always striving for normality are the central themes. These issues are dealt with biting irony and dramatic formulations. 2002 Kristina Lugn also had a talk show with the title segment kväll med Lugn ( Tough night with Lugn ) on Swedish television. On 6 October 2006 Lugn was elected to the Swedish Academy, where they took place on 20 December 2006 on the chair No. 14, succeeding Lars Gyllensten.
