Kristjan Rahnu

Kristjan Rahnu ( born August 29, 1979 in Kohila ) is an Estonian decathlete.

Rahnu reached in May 2002 in a competition in Arlington for the first time a capacity of more than 8000 points. He participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens in part, finished the race but after the shot put.

The breakthrough world leaders he succeeded in the following year, when he sat down at Arles with a score of 8526 points, second place in the annual leaderboard behind novel Šebrle. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he finished with 8223 points in sixth place. With its score of Arles he won silver before Šebrle, only Bryan Clay was with 8732 points out of reach.

At the World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006 he finished fourth in the heptathlon, and at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he was charged with 8083 points in ninth.

Rahnu is coached by his father Roland Rahnu.
