Kristoffer Zetterstrand

Kristoffer Zetterstrand (born 1973 in Stockholm) is a Swedish artist. He studied at the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm and the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Madrid. He works in a classic way, but his works are often influenced by art history, pixelated computer graphics and 3D worlds. His debut exhibition in 2002 consisted of images based on the first-person shooter Counter- Strike. His paintings are often based on virtual still life and scenographies that were modeled with 3D software. He is represented by the Peter Bergman Gallery in Stockholm. In 2008 he received the IASPIS artist in residence price. Some of his pictures are in the computer game Minecraft because his sister Elin with Markus Persson, the creator and former head developer of the game, was married.
