Krombach is located in the Bavarian Lower Main in Kahlgrund on Krombach.

Name
Etymology
The name Krombach is derived from the eponymous creek Krombach, which flows through the village and empties into Great Blank Bach in the Kahl. In the vernacular of the place " Krummich " is called.

History
The rule of the Counts of Schönborn, which belonged to the Frankish knights circle in 1806 with intermediaries in favor of the Principality of Aschaffenburg and fell with this 1814 ( previously a department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ) to the Kingdom of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. The patrimonial Krombach was repealed in 1849.

Coat of Arms history The community of Krombach was in large part owned by the Counts of Rieneck and the seat of the District Court. The Count died out in 1559 and the church came into the possession of the archbishopric of Mainz. In 1666, the family of Baron and later Count von Schönborn acquired the land court Kromberg. The town became the center of the possessions of the counts in the upper Kahltal. The Lion of the coat of arms of the Counts Schönborn recalls her reign. The division of red and gold in chief was the coat of arms of the Counts of Rieneck removed. The colors red and silver taken from the coat of arms of Mainz Kurstaats owned the place. The coat of arms has been operational since June 8, 1967.
