Kronberg Railway

As Kronberger path of the northern part of the S -Bahn line S4 is now called, leading from Langen ( Hessen) via Frankfurt to Kronberg im Taunus. The route splits from the Homburger Bahn in Frankfurt- Roedelheim Station and continues through Eschborn and Niederhöchstadt to Kronberg.

History

The Cronberger Railway Company opened on 1 November 1874 passenger traffic on the 9.8 km long route from Frankfurt- Roedelheim station; who always remained insignificant freight followed on March 1, 1875. The S4 is, as often seen between Langen and Niederhöchstadt parallel to the S3, just as "half" S- Bahn line.
