Krones AG is a publicly listed manufacturer of equipment for the bottling and packaging of beverages and liquid foods in PET and glass bottles and beverage cans, headquartered in Neutraubling.

The company covers with its equipment and machines from the production, filling and packaging process and material flow in the factory and the corresponding integrated IT systems. In addition, factory planning projects are carried out for the beverage industry. Krones has a method for bottle-to -bottle recycling of PET bottles, so that they can be used as recycled PET in the food industry.

History

Hermann Kronseder, the father of the current chairman, began in 1951 semi-automatic labeling machines according to their own design in Neutraubling produce. From the 1960s the machine program was expanded to include packaging machines and filling systems. In 1980 the company was transformed into the Krones Aktiengesellschaft and 1984, the IPO took place. 1983 Anton Steinecker Maschinenfabrik ( brewhouse ) was purchased in 1988 Zierk Maschinenbau GmbH ( bottle washing machines) in Flensburg, 1998, the Max Kettner GmbH (packaging machines) in Rosenheim. 2000 was the acquisition of Sander Hansen A / S ( Pasteurisierungssysteme ), Brondby, Denmark. 2003, the Italian cosmetics SRL, (machines for the low output range ) was acquired Rover Bella, Italy.

Divisions

Plastics Technology

Main product of this range are stretch with a power 12800-80000 bottles / hour for the production of PET bottles up to 3 liters. The PET recycling system based on a method of washing PET flakes with gradual temperature control and decontamination.

Filling and Packaging Technology

Focus of the division are rinsing, filling and capping in the run- concept. In contrast to linear systems runout machines for high-performance tasks of up to 72,000 bottles / hour, or about 120,000 doses / hour are suitable. These aseptic filling systems for beverages come with high pH > 4.5 with PES or H2O2 disinfection of containers and closures. Process

This division designs and builds complete lines for beverage production. One focus is the construction of breweries, its related brewhouse equipment, filtration and yeast plants as well as the fermentation and storage cellar equipment with the appropriate tanks. Also systems for mixing and carbonation of beverages are produced. In addition to these products, complete plants for the production of syrup for producers of soft drinks to be built. Material Handling Systems

For the supply of materials during production and delivery, the company provides logistics systems for raw materials, consumables and supplies as well as finished products. Either block storage or high- bay storage systems for use as well as picking equipment and forklift control and yard management systems are used. The associated IT systems are also being developed and might be associated with the customer's existing ERP systems ( Enterprise Resource Planning). In January 2013, the Company announced to discontinue its own activities in the materials handling sector. The existing projects to be completed.
