Kruibeke is a municipality in the north-east of the Belgian province of East Flanders with 16,028 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). The community area is 33.64 km ².

Kruibeke lies between the Scheldt and the E17 motorway. It borders the municipalities of Beveren in the north, Zwijndrecht in the Northeast, and beyond the Scheldt to Antwerp Hemiksem and in the east, to the municipalities Bornem clamp and on the south and Temse in the southwest.

In 1977, the church of the previously separate parts Kruibeke ( pop. 6,862, 1,454 ha), Bazel ( pop. 4,967, 1,700 ha) and Rupelmonde ( pop. 2,906, 188 ha ) is formed. The community part Rupelmonde is on the banks of the Scheldt. Administratively Kruibeke belongs to Arrondissement Sint -Niklaas.

A considerable part of the community consists of polders that are protected by a system of dikes from the influence of the Scheldt. The population centers are at a slightly higher Lehmrücken.
