Kruiningen
Kruiningen ( Zeeland: Krunege ) is a village on Zuid- Beveland, in the province of Zeeland and is about five kilometers south of Yerseke. Kruiningen was an independent municipality until 1970, which included Hansweert; Today it is one of the Reimerswaal community. In early 2008 the village had 3991 inhabitants.
By 2003, decreed Kruiningen a ferry dock for the ferry service Kruiningen - Perkpolder that was set after opening the Westerschelde tunnel. Around the now deserted ferry terminal is a residential development planned under the project name KruseVeer that will include 250 apartments and single family homes. Kruiningen has a railway station and is connected to the only railway line in Zeeland, the Zeeland Lijn, connected, leading from Bergen op Zoom to Middelburg.
Kruiningen is the birthplace of Daan Manneke.
