Krummin

Krummin is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. Krummin is located in the northwest part of the island of Usedom on a bulge of the Peene River, the Krumminer Wiek. The municipality is On Peenestrom based in Wolgast managed by the Office. Until January 1, 2005 Krummin was part of the Office Wolgast country.

Geography and transport

Krummin is located approximately five kilometers east of Wolgast and three kilometers west of Zinnowitz. About two kilometers north of the community runs the federal highway 111 South of the village is the river Peene. Krummin is also in the nature park Usedom Island.

History

Krummin was first mentioned in 1230 as Cromina or Crominino. Around 1250, the later monastery church of St. Michael was built. In 1290, Prince Bogusław IV confirmed the Duke Barnim I assigned to Johann Voss patronage of the church of the same Krummin the sons, Heinrich, Friedrich and Konrad. In the years 1302 and 1303, the monastery was built as a branch Krummin foundation of the Cistercian monastery of Wolin. 1305 Krumminer the monastery was finally separated from its mother monastery. It was located on the south side of the church.

Mid-16th century Krummin passed into domain ownership. During the Thirty Years' War, 43 people died in the place of the plague, and the monastery was partially destroyed. 1675 was awarded the Swedish field marshal and statesman Carl Gustav Wrangel the village as a gift. From the Thirty Years War to the 1720 Krummin belonged to Swedish Pomerania and came to the Peace of Stockholm as the entire island of Usedom, the Prussian kingdom. 1833 the village of Heinrich Ludwig was purchased from Corswandt. Since 1990 Krummin part of the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

On 1 July 2010, the parts which lie north of the federal highway 111 were handed over by the municipality Krummin to the community Mölschow. These were affected to approximately 19.6 ha 23 inhabitants.
