Krupp Diamond

The Krupp Diamond is a colorless 33.19 carat ( 6.636 g ) heavy diamond, which is also known under the name Elizabeth Taylor diamond.

The diamond belonged to the German industrialists Krupp family. It was sold after the death of the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach second wife Vera ( 1909-1967 ). The actor Richard Burton bought the diamond for 305,000 dollars and gave it to his then- wife Elizabeth Taylor in the fourth year of marriage. Elizabeth Taylor wore this diamond as an enclosed ring. On 16 December 2011, the diamond for 8.8185 million U.S. dollars in New York City was auctioned at Christie's.
