Kruth

Kruth ( German: Krüt ) is a commune with 984 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Thann, in the canton of Saint -Amarin and is a member municipality of the Municipal Association Vallée de Saint -Amarin.

Geography

Kruth is in the upper Thur valley near the Vosges ridge. The highest points are the milestone to 1266 and the Grand Ventron at 1204 m above sea level. North of Kruth are the Lac de Kruth - Wildenstein and the ruins of Wildenstein. From Kruth from a pass road over the Col d' Oderen by Ventron leads to the neighboring Lorraine. The territory of Kruth is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.
