History

A private railway company in 1881 opened the route Krylbo - Borlänge ( Södra Dalarnes Järnväg ). The great expansion of the station followed in 1900 with the track Frövi - Krylbo (107 km), for example, a direct connection between the south of the country Gothenburg and Malmö represented with Norrland.

The station building ( Avesta Krylbo station) of 1902 of the architect Gunnar Zettervall is an architectural monument. Today, the Stockholm- Krylbo - Borlänge Dalabanan is called. The route Örebro Frövi - Krylbo - Storvik is part of the so-called genome- Godsstråket Bergslagen. The station name was used until 1970 Krylbo, then Avesta C ( entral ), 1986 Avesta Krylbo and from 1988 Avesta Krylbo.

On July 19, 1941 exploded in the German munitions train station ( see explosion of Krylbo ).
