Krystyna Łybacka

Krystyna Łybacka ( born February 10, 1946 in Jutrosin ) is a Polish politician and since 1991 Member of the Sejm in the I, II, II, IV, V and VI. Election period and between 2001 and 2004 Minister of Education and Sports. In addition, she holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and lecturer.

Curriculum vitae

In 1968, she finished his studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Chemistry of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. She received her PhD in 1976 at the Institute of Mathematics of the Technical University of Poznan. In the years 1968 to 1991, she was Technical and Scientific Secretary of the Polish Society of Mathematics.

In the years 1978 to 1989 it belonged to the Polska Zjednoczona partia Robotnicza ( Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR ) that since 1993 she is a member of the party Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ( Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP ). In 1996, she was regional chairman of the party in Poznan, 1999, she headed the Woiwodschaftsrat of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) in Poznan. In December 1999, Deputy Chairman of the executive committee of the SLD. 1991, 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005, she was elected as deputies to the Sejm. She worked in various Sejm commissions, including for defense and intelligence agencies. In the III. and V. legislature she was Deputy Chairman of the Commission for Education, Science and Youth.

From 19 October 2001 to 2 May 2004 she was Minister of Education in the government of Leszek Miller. From 2004 to 2005 she was Deputy Chairman of the SLD Group.

In the parliamentary elections in 2007, she was on the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ) with 24,405 votes elected for the constituency poses for the sixth time in the Sejm. In the VI. Election period she sits in the Sejmkommissionen of Education and Science and of Administration and Interior.

Since 22 April 2008, she is member of the Group Lewica.
