Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar

Krystyna Moszumanska - Nazar ( born September 5, 1924 in Lviv, † 26 September 2008 Kraków ) was a Polish composer and music educator.

Moszumanska - Nazar came with her family in 1945 to Krakow. Here she studied until 1955 at the State College of Music piano with Jan Hoffman and composition with Stanisław Wiechowicz. From 1963 she taught at the Academy of Music in Krakow composition, orchestration, counterpoint and contemporary compositional techniques. In 1974-75 she taught composition. By 1979, she was Dean of the Faculty of Composition, Conducting and Music Theory, 1987-1993 Director of the Academy.

1954 was Moszumanska - Nazar winner of the competition of young composers of the Polish Composers' Union. First prizes she won the second prize and in international competitions composers in Mannheim in 1961 and in Buenos Aires in 1963, when Karol Szymanowski Competition in 1974.
