Krzysztof Klabon

Krzysztof Klabon (* around 1550 probably in Königsberg; † after 1616) was a Polish composer, lutenist and singer.

Klabon was in its infancy and singers from 1565 lutenist at the court of Sigismund II Augustus in Krakow. From 1576 to 1601 he was, with a brief interruption by the Italians Luka Marenzio 1596, director of the Royal Chapel. His successor was Guilio Cesare Gabussi, he himself remained its member thereafter. The last time he is mentioned during a visit to the chapel in 1616 to Sweden.

Are getting Klabons compositions a collection of lute songs by Stanislaw Gorchowski under the title Pieśni Slowienskiey: na teraznicysze pod Byczyna zwyciestwo, a five-part Kyrie paschalis and the soprano voice of Sancta Maria Officium.
