KS Kastrioti

Klubi Sportiv Kastrioti Kruja is an Albanian football club based in Kruja. The club currently plays in the first Albanian League.

History

Kastrioti Kruja was founded in 1926. After the club was disbanded in 1949 for a short time, he was re-founded in the same year under the simple name of Kruja. Two years later it was renamed the Puna Kruja, before 1958, the original name was restored.

The early 1990s - the first time in the 1990/91 season - the club played in the first Albanian League. After 1993, the decline could not be avoided were two years in the second division before was played back perfectly for a year. Since 1997, we went down to the third league in the season 2003/04. As a sovereign masters succeeded in the direct promotion back to the second division, from which you climb in third place in 2005/ 06 thanks to the increase in the first league. Since you play - with the exception of the 2008/09 season - again top notch.
