KSV Roeselare

The Koninklijke Vereniging Sport Roeselare is a Belgian football club from the city of Roeselare West Flemish, which plays in the KNVB -League since the 2010/11 season.

History

In 1902, the first predecessor organization was founded under the name Union Sportif Roeselare, which was however disbanded in 1909 due to financial problems. A year later came two clubs. The Catholics played in the Sportvereniging Roeselare, the Protestants joined together to FC Roeselare. After the First World War had interrupted the operation of gambling, 1921 SK Roeselare was newly established. However, the association remained greater success denied and only after was established with the merger in 1999 with local rivals KFC Roeselare of Roeselare, success was established. First time in 2005 reached the summit in the Jupiler League, where to play since then. Although only one twelfth in 2006, qualified you for the UEFA Cup in 2006/ 07, as it was one of the three drawn by lot Teams of the UEFA Fair Play ranking. For the 2011/12 season the former Ukrainian international Sergiy Serebrennikov took office as player-coach.
