Kuban Stadium

The Kuban Stadium (Russian Кубань ( стадион ) ) is a football stadium in the Russian city of Krasnodar. Currently, it is mainly used by the local football clubs FK Kuban Krasnodar and Krasnodar FK, which discharge their home games here.

History

The Kuban in 1960 built on a vacant land near the river Karasun as athletics stadium and finally opened on 14 May 1961 with the championship game against Spartak Spartak Krasnodar Stavropol. At that time, it had a capacity of 20,000 spectators, with all the seats were standing, which, however, in 2001, existing with the conversion of the standing room on the main and opposite stand on seats as well as the construction of two additional ranks each over the ranks of the main and the opposite stands on 36,800 increase. With the renovation light light poles have been set up (1800 lux ), 50 VIP seats, 510 Businesseats and 35 media courses.

Was a result of this renovation and the Kuban one of the most modern stadiums in Russia even if less than 1% of the audience seats are covered. The official capacity of the Kuban is not 36,800 but 28,800, with all seats are seats, as the two -seat stands behind the goals that have not been renovated, no longer be used and thus eliminated 8,000 places.
