Kudensee

Kudensee is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Kudensee is located about five kilometers north-east of Brunsbuttel on the Kiel Canal. Through the village take the road 276 and the German Ferries runs. The channel ferry Stettin connects the municipality with the municipality Averlak. The Federal Highway 5 crosses the face of the community.

History

The community was first Kudensee 1454 " the Kudensee Uth " mentioned in the name. Its history is closely connected with engaging water management measures and changes. Towards the end of the 16th century came the first settlers who first took the meadows on the banks of the flat Kudensee in possession.
